Career History
Founder & Director – Local Landscape & Civil Works Business
Welney & Fenland Area (mid 1970’s–2013)
Ran a successful community-integrated business employing 30 local operatives, often from Welney’s William Marshall School. Developed an in-house NVQ training scheme up to Level 4, supporting neurodivergent inclusivity and skills development.
• Major Projects & Achievements:
• – Welney Sports Field & Pavilion – Opened by Geoff Capes, late 1960s
• Rowan House – Buxton Secure Hospital Landscaping – Won Protection of Rural England Award; also a personal certificate from Buxton Parish Council
• – Gunpowder Park, Enfield – Transformed ex-Royal Ordinance site into eco-park; Roger Giles was personally introduced to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh for his company’s contribution to Bio-Diversity and conservation.
• – Organised village sports, ice rink/swimming pool transport, and training (1960–2000s); Chaired Welney Fen Skating Club for 30+ years
• Was on the committee of Welney Gala 2004 using the same Formula as Welney
Galas of the 1960’s. £4 k was raised & donated to WPC to purchase play equipment
• Advisor Welney mini Gala 2014. This was a trial run/prototype for forward planning of a major Gala planned for 2015. £1k was raised for the village.
• Assisted the Welney Gala team through most of 2015 re Gala project booked for August. Unfortunately another village committee booked up to run a similar event in July, so project abandoned, sadly.
• As president of Welney Croft Cricket Club, I had the pleasure of presenting club prizes in 2018. Also in 2018, I was invited by the Fen Centre long track speed skaters to their UK team training camp at the Hague, to present the UK cup for UK 5000 m. The cricket club never reformed after COVID, unfortunately, plus numbers of skaters training at the Hague dwindled.
• Was a founder member of Welney Wheelers that discontinued as Pandemic hit. It was ideal for people regaining mental & physical health. The highlight of this group was that one of our members, after watching diet /cycling, lost 5 Stone.
• Becoming a participant in the Thursday Coffee and cake at St Mary’s Church, Welney shall I say, takes the biscuit, run by the two church wardens, their wives, plus we must not forget the dedicated team of volunteers. The uplift in community spirit has been totally amasing. They have even found a great vicar recently – congregations have topped 85. I found it a pleasure to chat with the vicar, his wife & children in our local pub, I have heard recently that Laura of the coffee /cake was interviewed on Radio BBC Norfolk, our Coffee and cake social having made the final of BBC ‘Make a difference’ awards. They definitely deserve to win.

Advocacy & Justice Work (2014–Present)
My business went down in June 2014. I and thousands of the same are claiming Lloyd’s Bank deliberately destroyed our businesses, to claim our assets. In my case, monies were paid out of my business account before cheque numbers were issued to me.
Lloyds BSU Bristol appear the main offenders. RBS GRG also used the same scam. I, and many thousands of others, are campaigners in Action4Justice, Project Hague, Op Meadows and Transparency Task Force. I have represented Lloyds BSU Bank scandal victims and participated in parliamentary debates and protests, despite major health challenges.
Notable Milestones:
• Recently, BBC Panorama investigates Lloyd’s Bank – “Did Lloyds Bank Fail My Business?” by Steve Brodie.
• Transparency Task Force video testimony flagging serious effects that economic bank crime has on real people.
• Video from debating room, House of Commons – Lord Prem Sikka as Chair, Anthony Stansfeld ex Thames Valley PCC who,s Head Constable, put HBOS Bank Managers behind bars. Ex PCC Stansfeld stated this bank scandal cover up was the same as the Post Office scandal.but larger
